Nothing to Blog About

Ever since our family started blogging I've found that I just don't feel like I have anything worth "writing home" about. So, I'm going to write and see if I can't find something to blog about.

There's times when I think maybe I should borrow some adorable children and wildly snap pictures to post, or hit a college activity where I can wear a crazy hat and make the peace sign with a big cheesy grin. I haven't had any dynamite interviews as of late like Daniel did, although I did graduate in the top ten of my class. Wait, there were only ten in the class.

Do you ever feel like everyone else has struggles but in spite of it all is living an incredible "write home" kind of life?

My brother, Luke is the successful airline pilot, experiencing a career that is as if it was made for him. Luke, we do need a virtual tour of your new home some time.

Will, also a brother, is running any where his shoes will go, which makes me tired thinking about it. I never thought I'd be stalking someone via GPS, but it was kinda fun. He just circled Mount Rainer some 90 plus miles in two days. (?*!*?/&3?) He's crazy.

My ever fun sister Kristi is a gifted photographer with a family that's divine. Yeah, I know all families come from heaven, but she's got some really neat heaven sent kids. And then if you've ever seen her classroom; it runs like a well oiled machine. She's a substitute teachers dream. I bet you can actually find the lessons plans. That is truly remarkable having substituted in a few classrooms myself.

Daniel is living the east coast dream with who knows what blessings to follow. You may have heard of his incredible job offer. We are all proud of him and his accomplishments. Mom and Dad are so excited to go for the graduation in Oct that I'm not sure they don't already have their bags packed.

Laura and her family have just relocated to Tempe Arizona where some of the very best missionaries serve and it never gets too cold. I'm excited for them to explore the area. Dad, Mom and me and then later Jenni and me took a drive to Sedona, when I lived down there, which each of you should put on your must see list.

Elizabeth gets even more beautiful each day. She's a good wife and mother, to boot. I'm looking forward to one day touring the eco friendly home they design for themselves. I'm trying to think if there's anything I need to buy. They're the ones who can find a deal on just about anything. What a gift.

Seth is brilliant and even tested as a genius in grade school I'm told. He's living the college life with what sounds like fairly easy classes for him. (Seth, feel free to tell me other wise.) No one will be surprised when he releases his first book with who knows, maybe a movie or two or even some action figures...

Now, we've come to my sister Grace and her blogs. I do relate to her occasional post of satire regarding singledom. Honey, you just call anytime you need to talk. I have a feeling her future is pretty amazing too. Like the rest of us, she probably wonders exactly what that might be. Grace, if you have a bum day, just stop by the mall and look at jewelry. A little piece of jewelry always makes me feel better, but try to avoid the wedding sets.

My youngest sister Alisha and I share the house with Mom and Dad. We are keeping them young, right Alisha? Alisha's a senior this year. She has an exit date with real plans to move out. Wow.

As for me; I'm not moving out any time soon. I'm glad to be home. It's humbling to be limited as mortals are sometimes, but at the same time I've never had so much.

I've done some missionary work with the sister missionaries. It's been really nice to have enough health to occasionally do something besides sleep and work. Brenna is a new member. She and I did Baptisms a few weeks ago. Her testimony is powerful. I feel blessed to be in her path, or she in mine, whichever it is.

For my birthday month I decided to paint my bedroom. It's taken me all month and some of the next but I'm almost done. I'd get part way through a project and be completely worn out that I'd put the brush down for a short rest only to come back to it a few days later and have to go out and buy a new brush. That's not very effective... It's been a fun project. It occured to me one day that I had been living at home for almost two years and probably wasn't going to move out anytime soon and I had just as well turn the bright bold high schooler blue into something more fitting. I'll have to post some pictures if I can get my camera working.

I saw my attorney the other day. I'm getting closer to having a disability hearing. We don't have a specific date just yet but, they told me last year to expect a letter between Aug and Jan. Well, it's September. Who would have thought it could take three years. It makes me roll my eyes, but when you are in my shoes it's still better than no government.

I'm now working the Estee' Lauder counter at Macy's. I'm learning their products and building a new clientele. It's only been two weeks, but I've nearly got the bay organized and yes, even labeled. I've had record sales the past few days. I enjoy working. I do come home with my entire body in pain head to toe. Might as well light me on fire. I don't know that it would be all that different. Rest cuts the pain. I crash for as long as I need to and offer thanks for the days off between shifts. I remember working full time, so this is not too bad.

Mom came down to my bedroom on a Saturday and made an offer I couldn't turn down. I've been car less and going for scenic road trips is something I've really missed. She asked if wanted to go to Jackson for the afternoon. I've never been. I knew I needed to rest but like borrowing on the credit card I said I don't care, I'll pay for it later. Mom doesn't get days off but once a blue moon and we wanted to catch the end of summer. So we headed towards Jackson. If they'd only post those junction signs in big letters like they do in other states... Yeah, so on the way back from not driving to Jackson, we found the big over sized, "turn here to go to Jackson" sign hanging boldly on a big pole over the middle of the highway. Hum, how did we miss that?

The 2,100 bikers, Palisades campers and lady with an orange flag in the middle of the road waving in no particular direction was quite distracting. Thus, we missed the sign. Instead we saw parts of Wyoming I had never seen before. I'm not going to tell you which parts, because then you'll know just how lost we were. No, we weren't lost. We had every intention to go for a long scenic drive and we did just that.

We decided to try again in two weeks, this time with a map. We were just scouting it out to make sure when we really go, we will know where to turn, right Mom? It sure was a fun afternoon.

A few weeks ago Linda, a former roommate from Beaverton, OR called. Her parents are celebrating their 50th on Mariner of the Seas cruise ship Dec 5th bound for the Mexican Riviera (Cabo, Puerta Vallarta, Mazatlan). Linda, will need someone to share a cabin with. Oh, you can count on me whenever a friend is in need. That's just the kind of girl I am to come to someones aid.

I gathered up the money from the sell of my Tuscon cargo screen on eBay, my Lancome commissions during our big gift, some extra hours, mom's skymiles and what do you know...I think it's meant to be. I'll do just about anything for a vacation, especially if there's a spa and/or a beach.

So, I guess I did find something to blog about after all.
