Lucky Day
Little Elijah Lucky Suguturaga was born this morning and he was a lucky fellow in deed, making it through a tough spot (well, maybe that's not the best choice of words). It was certainly more than a few ministering angels crossing their fingers that helped him arrive.
He's here and healthy, and mom is too. I'll let you get the delivery details from Kristi and/or Haini.
So, his dad (Haini) gave him the middle name Lucky, which is also the name of a popular hawaiian/reggae singer.
When I received the broadcast text letting us know he was here safely and that his middle name would be Lucky, I just froze, for the very word lucky was already swirling in my head.
So, I turned in my slip and fished around for a ticket from the box. Most of the perks were coupons for a dollar and even fewer for the five dollar cash prize. The gal in shoes had already pulled the one-and-only fifty dollar ticket but there was still that hundred dollar card left among multiple odds. I told the girls that I was a very lucky girl and that I often win. Positive thinking, right?
It was one of those moments when my hand reached in the box and the feeling came so strongly to pick the one I on the right that I was holding, as I had picked up two or three coupons. I dropped the others and pulled the card from the box.
I was holding the coupon and looking at it but I couldn't process what I was reading. I shook my head to clear my vision and looked again. As I raised my head to look at my co-workers I was speechless.
I had pulled the hundred dollar card! We let out a "I'm in shock" kind of squeal. We all did. There were hugs and much excitement. They all agreed, I am pretty lucky.
So, Elijah Lucky is here and Kristi (my sister, his mom) is now asking for the her portion of the cash prize. After all, she did most of the work getting our good luck bundle here. What a lucky day it's been.
By-the-way, I just paid my tithing on Sunday.

1 O'Clock
My work schedule has changed so that I now have Sunday's off. Last Sunday I was getting into the car to drive to church, still not used to the 9am meeting time and I turned to Elizabeth and commented that I really had enjoyed the singles wards because we always met around 1pm, which meant I could sleep in.
She and I arrived at church just as Relief Society was starting. We got situated and then I looked up to see that the clock was off. It was running as if it was 1pm. I turned to Elizabeth, pointing at the clock in which both of us couldn't help but crack a smile.
I don't think it was a coinsidence - others might. I get the feeling that someone upstairs has been watching over this mortal life of mine and could see a bit of humor that needed pointing out. I can't help but think that they were enjoying themselves over this little practical joke.
